A balanced diet

Oops! I forgot to take any lunch with me to bubble land today. But I had remembered to take in a huge packet of biscuits for all to share. So I shared a few of them with myself and had a lovely bowl of biscuits for my lunch. Oh dear.

Could this kind of incident be one of the reasons why super-fitness is still so very far away?

A dear little picnic

These are the very friendly deer referred to in my previous post. They came along to investigate our picnic. Luckily for me, they didn't seem very keen to step onto the picnic blanket. This was such a fun picnic, and this is only a small selection of the numerous funny pictures we took.

Just in case it isn't clear from this picture, I'm the one on the left.

Away from the hurly Burghley . . .

This place was great!


There was a large building, Burghley House, which we didn't go inside.


But we thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor loveliness of:

• beautiful grounds, with interesting sculptures



• the Gardens of Surprise, with a maze and fountains to play in



• and a herd of very friendly deer, with soft fuzzy antlers

Huzzah for Hedgehogs!

I had another lovely day out . . .

There were fantastic flowers,

beautiful butterflies,

and cool creatures to feed and play with.




There was even a Hedgehog Play Trail!

The trail was lots of fun for all

and, of course, the story had a happy hedgehog ending.

OOPS!

I thought that I'd had my amazing butterfly adventure on 26th May but in fact it was on 26th April.

Oh well, it's an easy mistake to make when you've been toiling away in Bubble Land for 24 hours, then you eat a big fat fried breakfast and are then whisked off into a mysterious vortex. For an amazing butterfly adventure.

Well there's a new blog entry anyway - but it's back in April.

Maybe it's a temporal paradox or something.

But probably not.

Early one morning

I was in central London super early this morning and I met a friend for a hearty walk. We saw lots of interesting things. How many places, objects and/or activities do you recognise?

Huzzah for London and for getting up early on a sunny day!

Fruit time

Today I ate one small satsuma,

two yellow apples,

three lovely bananas,

and five juicy tomatoes!

What a very healthy day I had!

No, I didn't also eat a small green caterpillar! This is in fact a literary reference*.

*This character is from a book called "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"!

I love London

There were many wonderful sights in central London today.

I viewed Trafalgar Square from the air!

Well . . . at least I saw this cool model in the National Gallery. It shows how Trafalgar Square used to look in olden times before London Mayor Ken Livingstone pedestrianised the north terrace and built the new central stone staircase.




I had a front row view for Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace. It's always worth watching. Huzzah for British pageantry and tradition!

I even got to see the tube (London Underground) as it should always be - empty and shiny bright. If only it looked like this more often, instead of cluttered with people, their luggage, and the ever-present discarded free newspapers.

I love London!

All that glitters is not gold

Today I went to see the Tutankhamun exhibition in the millenium dome. I'd never been to the dome before and I had high hopes of seeing many a sparkly ancient Egyptian treasure.

Even though I already knew that the famous golden death mask was back in Egypt, I was still secretly hoping to see something utterly splendid and bedazzlingly shiny. Preferably lots of sparkly, shiny, golden things.


There were some shiny things to see, and some were even golden, but I had hoped for a bit more bedazzlement.

I wasn't very excited about this item in the gift shop - a 'King Tut tissue box holder'.

Yes, really.

But wait, there's more: you pull the tissues out from a hole under the pharoah's nose - in the style of an ancient priest preparing the body for mummification! How much fun is that?!

All of this glamour and historical re-enactment could be yours for only £20!
