Hard Rock Birthday
I went along to Hard Rock Cafe again this year to enjoy the loveliness of their birthday celebrations. As usual, the queue was so long that it felt like I'd been waiting there since 1971.

There was plenty of entertainment available though. I avoided the unicyle man and the caricature sketch artist, but did get my nails painted a lovely shade of pink.
There were balloons and 70's style costumes in abundance - all adding to the fabness of the day. Plus, this year I remembered my ghastly over-fed fatness of Hard Rock Birthday 2006 and so I chose not to have any free ice-cream in the queue.

The staff were all dressed up . . .

The food was utterly splendid and - of course - oh so inexpensive: this hot fudge sundae was 40p.

Huzzah for Hard Rock Cafe and for fun days out in sunny London!

I've recently joined the Fire Brigade.

Oh well then . . . not really. I had some children with me today, and so I was able to persuade some kind firefighters to show us their fire engine and equipment.

This was so much fun! Huzzah for these friendly firefighters and all their brave fire-fighting colleagues.

The children were a bit small to handle the powerful fire hose, so I reluctantly offered to demonstrate. It was difficult to overcome my natural shyness . . . but I was prepared to push myself for the children's sake.

May the force be with you. . .

Apologies to the blog regulars who have seen this gorgeous picture before, but it seemed so appropriate for today.
This very night I will become a Jedi and thereafter any who have chosen the dark side had better watch out.
There will also be free food and a professional photographer in attendance - huzzah!

Is the winter weather getting you down?

Why not relax in a long, hot bath and release the inner mermaid in you. . .

Or try revamping a tired item from your everyday wardrobe.
Some cheerful stickers can really brighten up a pair of shoes - or add some glitter glue for that real Christmas sparkle.

Or if all else fails, then get the kettle on for a lovely hot cup of tea and stuff your face with a big fat cake!
