It has been so long since I've posted anything that I thought it was time for something especially splendid - and what could be more delightful than this picture from my archives. . .

I'm pleased to add that this gorgeous hat is still going strong and has even been featured in some recent seasonal movie-making sessions.

Apologies to the blog regulars who have seen this gorgeous picture before, but it seemed so appropriate for today.

This very night I will become a Jedi and thereafter any who have chosen the dark side had better watch out.

There will also be free food and a professional photographer in attendance - huzzah!

Why not relax in a long, hot bath and release the inner mermaid in you. . .

Or try revamping a tired item from your everyday wardrobe.

Some cheerful stickers can really brighten up a pair of shoes - or add some glitter glue for that real Christmas sparkle.





Or if all else fails, then get the kettle on for a lovely hot cup of tea and stuff your face with a big fat cake!

As many people will know, I've been on a full time training course for the last few weeks and it finished today.

After grappling with living and plastic casualties all day today, I successfully completed the Emergency Life Saving component.

I have already had various written and practical tests of other aspects of the course and so this was my final assessment.

I'm pleased to announce that I've passed - woo hoo!

I went out for a hop around in town on Sunday and ended up bobbing into the Royal Academy of Arts. They had a couple of interesting special exhibitions.

One was on Rodin and I saw his famous 'The Kiss', 'The Thinker' and 'The Gates of Hell' - all of which were great. There were also some bronze statues of various Hindu gods which were interesting.

I really like all the art galleries and museums which are everywhere in London - especially as I can get into them for free with my bubble land ID badge. Huzzah for art and for bubble land!

Mid-November and I'm still wearing my shorts. Is this because of

a) climate change - making the weather all weird

b) big city hotness (traffic fumes and hordes of people)

c) me being strange and not noticing that it's cold now

d) all of the above

But is it art?





I was really looking forward to whizzing down inside these giant tubes at the Tate Modern Art Gallery last week. However, the tubes had lots of ridges inside, where the sections were joined together, and even the beginners' one was too bumpy for me - oh dear!

Remember, remember the 5th of November. . .

In 1605, a man named Guy Fawkes was part of a plot to blow up the houses of parliament and the king. However, the plot was discovered and Guy Fawkes was captured and executed.

This event is commemorated every year with traditional fireworks and the lighting of a bonfire with a 'guy' on top. Here's a website with more infomation:

Unfortunately, our bonfire didn't have a 'Guy' on top but instead had a model which looked strangely like the houses of parliament. Not quite in keeping with the usual tradition then.
