This history re-enactment day was so much fun! The vikings were part of a large Dark Ages Re-enactment group and they were living in a 'viking village' in the castle grounds. There were all kinds of really interesting trades and crafts, viking home life (e.g. outdoor cooking over an open fire) plus plenty of sword-wielding, shield-shattering viking action. The castle itself was fairly small but had a fair few interesting parts - and a good view from the top of the tallest tower.Sunday, August 27, 2006
