Another new series (season) of Dr Who started tonight.
Huzzah for Dr Who!
I can vaguely remember the days of yore when FP and I would watch the Doctor's latest adventures from an excellent vantage point behind the sofa. Then, as we got older and braver, we watched from in front of the sofa with just a cushion to hug for protection and/or reassurance. This was in the days before CGI and special effects when we knew that the Daleks were real.

The Dr Who tv series originally ran from 1963 - 1989 on dear old BBC 1, plus there was a Dr Who movie in 1996 - which I haven't seen yet.
When the BBC decided to bring back Dr Who, I really hoped that the show - and the new Doctor - would be ok and not be some ghastly rewarmed travesty. Who would ever have guessed that it would be so utterly fabulous?!
Tonight's episode was great. It had menacing rhino beasts and it was mainly set on the moon (Earth's moon - in case you weren't sure). This splendid show will no doubt be repeated endlessly and so, even if by some chance I do actually manage to get a social life and have plans on a future Saturday night, I can be assured of my ability to keep up with the Doctor's adventures.
